Patrons Scheme
With something on nearly every night of the week – from world-class performances, to great popular music, to new release films – there’s never been a better time to take your support of The Maltings Theatre & Cinema to the next level.

Youth Patron
Become one of 100 patrons we are seeking to help support classes, workshops and productions for young people to participate in the performing arts - including drama, dance and other activities. Your contribution will help to enrich the lives of local young people! Donation: £100 annually

Innovation Fund
As one of just 12 founding donors to this fund, you will support emerging artists across all the performing arts and help bring innovative, challenging work to Berwick-upon-Tweed at least four times a year. Donation: £250 annually

Director’s Circle
One down and 23 more to go! We are seeking more founding patrons to help us strive to bring at least two world class artists and major companies to Berwick-upon-Tweed every year. Donation: £500 annually

To put the new Patron's Scheme into financial context: we can turn every £1 donated into £1.25 through Gift Aid, which means the money received will be worth almost ten times as much as money received from a ticket sale.

By way of further explanation: when we sell a ticket for a major show, up to 80p of every £1 earned goes to the artist. This leaves The Maltings holding 20p, out of which it must pay 3p for the box office system to sell the ticket and 3p to the bank for accepting a card payment. The remaining 14p goes towards having the building open, heated, powered and staffed, with little or none left to invest in future performances. There really is very little margin for error and a need for caution when programming shows.

Please consider making a donation through the new Patron’s Scheme to ensure The Maltings can continue to pursue cutting-edge, adventurous programming, nurture “unproven” new talent and serve minority tastes with shows that are not necessarily a big box office draw but are culturally worthy.
